Performance Facilities

ULM's Performance venues include the Emily-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall and the Brown Theatre Complex which houses three theatres under one roof: Brown Auditorium, Spyker Theatre, andÌýBlack Box Theater, anÌýexperimental studio theatre/classroom.

The Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall is a 284-seat performance venue, which boasts two 9’2’’ FazioliÌýconcert grand pianos.

Brown Auditorium

Brown Auditorium is a 706 seat proscenium theatre. It was partially renovated in 2011. It includes a 470 sq. ft. hydraulic orchestra lift and a 23-line fly system with 3 motorized electrics over the stage.

An ETC Element 60-500 computerized light board - dimmer per circuit capability for approximately 200 lighting instruments.

An Allen & Heath ZED432 Mixing Console, QSC amps paired with Community speakers.

Spyker Theatre

Spyker (pronounced "speaker") Theatre is a 170 seat proscenium theatre, with a 108 channel ETC Inspiration Computerized light board - dimmer per circuit capability for about 75 lighting instruments and a Soundcraft Spirit 324 Digital mixing console.

Black Box Theatre

The "Black Box" Theatre is an experimental theatre space with a seating capacity for approximately 150 patrons.

Its versatile theatre space configuration and computerized lighting control can handle approximately 100 lighting instruments. There areÌýfour different areas available for stage manager's position.
