In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation
of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance
of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions
to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where
vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.Ìý
Our outstanding faculty and staff offer a supportive learning environment dedicated
to preparing highly qualified professionals to meet the workforce demands of the community,
the region and beyond.Ìý
The ULM Art Program and Bry Art Gallery are currently hosting an exhibition of works titled "Quiet Resonance" by Shreveport artist Eric Hess. The exhibition began September 23 and runs through October 16. An artist's talk will be given on Wednesday, October16th in Sandel Hall Room 238 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m., with a reception following from 6:15 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Bry Art Gallery.
The ULM Atmospheric Science Program, housed in the School of Sciences in the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, is the only program of its kind in the state. Students choosing the Atmospheric Science program are exposed to a variety of professional opportunities even before graduation. These competitive internships and research projects allow students to have hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment in a variety of settings.
The School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana Monroe is preparing to host two concerts. Performer-Composer Brian KM will present a recital for horn and electronics on October 7. 956 Brass, a faculty brass ensemble from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will present a recital on October 23.
The Department of Music in the ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts has earned reaffirmation of accreditation and renewal of membership for all music programs from the National Association for Schools of Music (NASM).
Inducted into Louisiana's Heroes and Heritage Trail, the museum is a resource for
scientists and the general public.
